"I understand yer frustrations. This drink's on me."

Concealed along a quiet stretch of Sailors' Alley is one of its most popular taverns, a yellowing wooden row house called the Lonely Anchor. Inside is an enormous fireplace and a room of people, all arguing or playing dice at cheap wooden tables or the long bar at the back. Many grumbling old captains and sailors drink here, and one of these days they'll find a way to address their grievances.

This is a system-agnostic location, complete with descriptions, map, NPC and story-starters for GMs and Players alike. The location features a unique and easy-to-reference layout to help GMs start and build adventures. And it’s not just for GMs! Certain players will find the location helpful for giving their characters deep backstory.

Features:

  • A map location that can be dropped into any adventure that needs a seaworn tavern
  • A retired navy NPC, with problems and quests that need solving
  • Descriptions and more!
NOTE: The Sailors' Tavern is excerpted from The Docks District Map & NPC set. If you liked the Sailors' Tavern, check out The Docks District for even more locations nearby!

More about the City Handbook

The 54 city locations are organized into nine districts - The Rough Part of Town, The Theater District, the Docks District, The Market District, The Abandoned District, the Wealthy District, the University District, Outside the Walls, and the Castle District.

Yes! All 54 locations have maps. The 9 districts each have a district map, and every district has its own random table. Everything in the book is designed to give players fun locations to explore.

This book is for GMs that want to fill their cities with interesting locations. You can drop any location into your world. A unique index at the front helps GMs string together worlds to create adventure threads that help the players live out roles, like detectives or monster hunters.
